BILINGUAL PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (BPAC)

The Rantoul City Schools Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC) advocates for excellence in programs serving all language learners in the district. BPAC strives to provide family support, communication, and information to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural.
El Comité Asesor de Padres Bilingües (BPAC) de Rantoul City Schools aboga por la excelencia en los programas que sirven a todos los estudiantes bilingües en el distrito. Why does BPAC exist? | ¿Por qué existe BPAC?
School districts that have Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE), such as Rantoul City Schools One-Way Dual Language program, are required to establish a Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee. The committee is composed of parents of children in the program, district staff, and other interested community members. Two-thirds of the committee members must be parents of children in the bilingual education program. The committee must meet at least four times a year and participate in the planning, operation, and evaluation of the program. The committee also reviews the district's annual application to the Illinois State Board of Education. After forming, the committee operates autonomously, including the election of officers and the establishment of internal rules and procedures.

Los distritos escolares que ofrecen Educación Bilingüe de Transición (TBE) Programas de Lenguaje Dual en nuestro caso, están obligados a establecer un Comité Asesor de Padres Bilingües. El comité está compuesto por padres de hijos en el programa, personal del distrito y otros miembros de la comunidad que estén interesados. Dos tercios de los miembros del comité deben ser padres de hijos en el programa de educación bilingüe/Dual. El comité debe reunirse por lo menos cuatro veces al año y participar en la planificación, operación y evaluación del programa y revisar la solicitud anual del Distrito a la Junta de Educación del Estado de Illinois. Después de la formación del comité, éste funciona de manera autónoma, incluyendo la elección de los miembros de la mesa directiva y los establecimientos de normas y procedimientos internos.
